a graduation and family bonanza

At the end of May my baby sister graduated from high school- so weird! So of course, Parker and I made the trip to Texas for the big event. Graduations provide a rare opportunity to see both my sisters and both my parents in one trip, plus I got to see one of my grandma's. Needless to say, it was good to be able to see everyone (even if it was all pretty short). We all got plenty of chances to get very close, whether we liked it or not, with packing 6 of us into dad's truck and bunking with Elizabeth in the tent trailer. Dad even let us take a few joy rides in his little red corvette. Texas was surprisingly pleasant weather wise because compared to NC the humidity was next to nothing. This made it great for pool time :)

As for life now, I am in heaven because school is finally out and I am enjoying my first week of summer break! To try not to feel like a lazy bum not doing anything for 2 months, I'm starting a workout program my friend let me borrow and am attempting to eat healthy, we'll see how long I last... Two days of working out has already kicked my butt which just goes to show me how totally pathetic I am when it comes to fitness. I'm starting to think I've set hilariously high expectations for myself. Although one expectation I'll know I'll be able to achieve is getting a fabulous tan. I am in desperate need of pool time and can't wait to soak up as much of the sun as I can.

On an exciting note, Parker booked our flights to Thailand for this winter. Parker is brushing up on his Thai and trying to teach me some basic words and phrases. I've never been out of the country before, so this trip is going to be huge to say the least. Especially if I get to ride an elephant. Also, I feel like I am going to be super legit when I get my passport. I don't know why, I've just always viewed people with passports as on a higher level of coolness.
